Final Four Basketball and Spring Break Fun in Downtown Indy

Downtown Indianapolis will transform into every basketball fan’s fantasy the first week of April when the NCAA Women’s Final Four Basketball Tournament comes to Downtown. April 1st and 5th is jam-packed with opportunities to cheer on your favorite teams. No ticket, no problem! With more than 300 restaurants and bars and numerous fan events, Downtown is the place to enjoy every minute of the tournament. Use this information as a guide to optimize your downtown basketball experience.

Women’s Final Four:

• April 3, 7.00pm and 9.30pm – National Semifinal Games (Conseco Fieldhouse)

• April 5, 8:30pm – National Championship Game (Conseco Fieldhouse)

Even if you don’t have game tickets, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the excitement of the Final Four.

Fan events:

• April 1 – 3, various times – Tourney Town (Indiana Convention Center) FREE

Tourney Town is the epicenter of all Final Four fan and community events. Enjoy interactive sessions and basketball clinics, entertainment for children, signing sessions for coaches and former players, giveaways and merchandise. It is home to the Center Stage concert venue which offers FREE daily concerts. Fans will experience great music in a festival-style atmosphere of food, retail experiences, concessions, and fan-enthusiastic activities. Kellie Pickler takes the lead April 2nd for a FREE concert!

• April 1, 11:30am – POWERADE NCAA Youth Clinics (Tourney Town) FREE

Boys and girls ages 8 to 16 can attend NCAA Youth Clinics to learn and improve their basketball and life skills with women’s basketball coaches, student-athletes, and basketball experts from around the country. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

• April 2nd

o 8am – Hydrated 4Kay Run from POWERADE Zero (Motor Speedway)

Join the fight against women’s cancer by participating in the 4Kay Run held in honor of the late North Carolina State University women’s basketball coach Kay Yow.

o 9am – 4pm – NCAA Girls Junior Journalism Workshop (Conseco Fieldhouse and Tourney Town)

Attendees can observe practices from the Women’s Final Four, be active participants in press conferences, and learn radio, television, and blogging techniques. To top it all off, all attendees will receive official NCAA credentials.

o 10:45am – 3:30pm – Practice & Team Signing Sessions (Conseco Fieldhouse) FREE

Attendees can watch teams train and receive autographs from the women’s Final Four student-athletes and coaches on free commemorative posters.

o 3:45pm – 4:15pm – Battle of the Bands (Conseco Fieldhouse) FREE

Right after open rehearsals, this battle features the four institutions’ pep bands showing off their school spirit.

o 4:30pm – WBCA High School All-American Game (Conseco Fieldhouse)

This prestigious event showcases the most talented high school basketball players.

o 5.30pm – FREE Concert by Kellie Pickler at Center Stage (Tourney Town).

Indiana native, Casey Jamerson, will be the guest artist at 4:30pm

• 3rd April

o 7:30am – Sunrise Service with FREE Indy Racing Ministry (Artsgarden).

The service will feature pastors and musicians and is open to all fans and community members.

o 10:00 – 12:00 – Special Olympics Youth Clinic (Tourney Town)

Young Special Olympics participants will learn and improve their sports, conditioning and life skills.

or 2pm – Circle City Dribble (Conseco Fieldhouse & Tourney Town) FREE

Youth 18 and under are welcome to dribble around downtown Indianapolis. Participants receive a T-shirt and a basketball.

or 2:30pm – 3:30pm – NCAA Pep Rally (Tourney Town) FREE

It features displays by pep groups, cheerleading squads, and mascots from all the Final Four teams.
